Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) berbeda dengan gadis lainnya, tidak pernah bergaul dengan teman sekolahnya di SMA Phoenix. Saat ibunya menikah lagi dan mengirim Bella untuk tinggal bersama Ayahnya di kota kecil Forks, Washington, ia tidak berharap banyak perubahan dalam dirinya. Ketika ia bertemu dengan Edward Cullen (Robert Pattison) yang misterius dan tampan. Tapi, EdwaRd mEnyimPan sEbuaH raHasia. Edward bukanlah pria yang biasa ia temui. Edward adalah vampire namun ia tidak memiliki taring dan ia beserta keluarganya memilih untuk tidak mengisap darah manusia

Mereka berdua menjadi sepasang kekasih. Bagi Edward – Bella adalah gadia yang ia tunggu selama 90 tahun – sebagai belahan jiwanya. Namun semakin dekat hubungan mereka – semakin berat usaha Edward untuk mengontrol dirinya. Apa yang akan dilakukan oleh Edward dan Bella saat sekelompok vampir baru lainnya – James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) dan Victoria (Rachelle Lafevre) – hadir dan mengancam hidup mereka?

Akhir cerita di film ini cukup bagus, tidak mudah ditebak :). Film ini berakhir dengan memberikan tanda-tanda akan ada sekuelnya. Dan ternyata memang ada sekuel dari novel “Twilight”, yaitu “New Moon”, yang sepertinya lebih seru, di mana Jacob Black, teman Bella, menunjukkan diri bahwa ternyata dia adalah seorang werewolf! Spoiler? Oops :). Novel lanjutannya, “Eclipse” dan “Breaking Dawn” pun ternyata semakin seru!! Andai difilmkan mungkin lebih cocok dengan genre action-romance.

Btw, ada sepenggal dialog yang menarik dari Bella:

Boy Meets Boy [BaseD oN tRuE stoRy] Hmm. .

Kim Hye Sung acted in a movie called Boy Meets Boy, about two boys falling in love with each other, after one steals money from the other. KHS plays a boy named Min Soo while co-star Lee Hyun Jin plays Suk-Yee (he’s more of the handsome type). Not only is he portraying half of a gay romance in the short film, the narrative is expressed without dialogue — the director opted instead to tell the story mostly in the characters’ gazes.

While most young stars labeled with the tag “pretty boy” (or kkot-minam) usually opt to emphasize their masculinity as they grow out of their adolescence (see: Jang Geun-seok), Kim Hye-sung is taking a riskier approach in the queer indie romance, wanting to challenge himself: “Although it was difficult to communicate not through dialogue but through a look in the eye, I took up the challenge thinking this would allow me to learn more about acting.” He continued, “A lot of people think that I’m very effeminate, but that’s not actually true. But toward the end of shooting this film, I thought I might really be able to like hyung [male co-star Lee Hyun-jin].” He joked that people would see his co-star, who’s more masculine, and say, “Kim Hye-sung must be the girl and Hyun-jin the boy.” He added, “Whenever that happened, I’d get the feeling that I was a girl [laughs].” Director Kim also disclosed that the actors weren’t paid for their work, and expressed his gratitude.

The film gets an official release in November.

The nearly wordless short film, starring Kim Hye-sung (Unstoppable High Kick) and Lee Hyun-jin (Kimchi Cheese Smile) as 18-year-old high school students, is billed as a queer romance about first love, and bears the tag “based on a true story.” The film held its press conference on November 5, and will have a theater release in six theaters — unusual for a short — starting on November 20, which will also feature a segment on the making of the film. (Because it won’t be shown with other shorts, the ticket price is also lower, at about half the price of regular movie tickets.)

Boys Before Flowers First Overseas Filming Photos Released

The buildup towards Boys Before Flowers continued this morning with the release of production stills of the cast filming at their first overseas location, New Caledonia (earlier news of them filming in New York was false).

The main content of their filming on New Caledonia (nEar AustraLia) and the surroundings with it’s special summer enviroment revolved around Geum Jan Di (Goo Hye Sun) and her close friend Chu Ga Eul (Kim So Eun) who goes for a weekend getaway together with F4 at a place owned by Goo Joon Pyo’s (Lee Min Ho) family.

As the actors/actresses involved were all idol stars with an average age of 20+, many scenes of them enjoying a leisure time around New Caledonia were filmed. Notable scenes that were filmed here include Goo Joon Pyo confessing to Geum Jan Di of his love for her and also Joon Pyo witnessing an ambigious scenes between Jan Di and Yoon Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong). The coupling between Chu Ga Eul and So Yi Jung (Kim Bum) also takes place here.

Kim Joon, the oldest among the F4 expressed, “We started filming not too long ago and as most of our scenes are separate from each other, there’s little interaction with others. But thanks to this overseas shoot, we can at the same time film and also enjoy a vacation which helps in building our relationships.”

Our Female Protagonist Jan Di

The production team filmed in New Caledonia and Waiheke Island, off the coast of New Zealand for over a week before returning back to Korea for a short break. They are currently in Macau for their second overseas shoot.

Boys Before Flowers will officially take over from The World That They Live In in the Mon-Tues timeslot starting from 5th January 2009.
